ASCII Art

This post exists to simply share a link with you: https://ascii.rest This website collects “ASCII Art”. Which are pictures drawn with symbols from the ASCII character set.

As a character set ASCII has long been superseded by UTF-8. A much larger character set. UTF-8 contains every symbol to represent every language there is. You can also do funny things, such as writing your name 𝓙𝓪𝓷𝓲𝓴 𝓿𝓸𝓷 𝓡𝓸𝓽𝔃 in a fancy font without, eh well, using a font.

The interesting thing about ascii.rest is that for every art there is also the code that creates or animates it. It is truly digital art with source code.
