RSS forever

Every blogger and reader of blogs knows about RSS. It enables subscribing to a website and receive updates to an inbox (RSS reader) since 1999. In terms of internet standards that makes it very old.

RSS has been proclaimed to be dead many times. Popular RSS readers have come and gone. But it seems RSS will surpass us.

Just recently I started using the Nextcloud News app to subscribe to blogs. And it feels like a renaissance. Before the world wide web fell into the tar pits of social media, RSS was the only way to socialize on the web.
