Thailand - Krabi, Ao Nang and Railay beach

Yesterday I left Thailand and went to Penang in Malaysia. I wished I had more time to stay there, it’s such a beautiful country, the food is incredible and the people are so nice. But what I miss most are definitely the scooter rides. In Thailand you don’t need a license to drive a scooter, a helmet is recommended. During my last ride I tried to create a hyper lapse with my GoPro camera, I’m not really happy with the result, but it’s all I’ve got:

With these boats you get from Ao Nang beach to Railay beach.

This is the first thing you'll see after a exhausting climb up of over 1200 steps to the tiger temple. Free Wifi seems to be more important than water.

Thais don't like big packs of chocolate or other sweets. These pack holds about 10 M&Ms.

This spider was as big as my hand. Really freaked me out.

In Railay beach is a beautiful viewpoint where you can see the hole island.

Thailand - Ko Tao and Ko Phangan

Back in Bangkok I had to say goodbye to my travel friends from Chiang Mai, first I was a bit anxious about me not being able to meet new people. However I didn’t expect that’s actually so easy, there are so many travellers down south with almost the same plan as me. And when you’re travelling alone it’s even more easy to meet new people as you don’t stay in a isolated group.

From the north of Thailand I moved down south and took a ferry to the small island Ko Tao. Ko Tao is a small and picturesque place. I met many people who had planned to stay there for just a couple days, but ended up living there for the last six month. It seems to be one of those island you unlikely want to leave when you’re travelling without a plan :D

Apart from the moon parties (every six days for every phase of the moon) Ko Phangan is a quite relaxing island. Great to explore with a scooter or just to hang out at the beach.

Ko Tao is the divers place in Thailand. These boats transport the divers to the bigger diving boats out in the deep water.

You'll find this jungle entry on top the highest hill in Ko Tao. Very beautiful.

Thailand - Chiang Mai and Bangkok

Almost 2 weeks passed since I’ve left home to go to Thailand. It’s unbelievable what happened in this short amount of time, here are my best memories so far.

Living in the village of northern hill tribes
Met funny, amazing and interesting people from all over world
Riding an elephant (whose not prisoned like the most you’ll see there)
Shared stories and learned a lot about thai people
Shooting with a 0.45 pistol and M16 rifle
Rent a scooter in Chiang Mai and fought with the busy traffic (almost crashed one time)
Cuddling with tigers (they were drugged and prisoned, but this is still better than selling them to china via the black market)
Eaten the best meals so far
And much more ;)

The doi suthep temple is on top of an hill next to Chiang Mai city. You'll get the most beautiful view from up there.

The temples are the best places to do parkour.

Summer break

This summer I’m going to travel around the world. Based on the idea one month one country, I’ll visit Thailand/Malaysia, Australia and America.

Here on my blog I want to share this experience with you. I’ll show you how I’ve planned this trip, what I’m going to take with me and finally share my most favourite pictures of this journey.

Let’s start with the planning. To keep my notes, documents and thoughts together, I’m using Microsofts OneNote, it’s the perfect tool for this kind of task as it’s very easy to handle and is able store any kind of note.

In addition I save important documents such as vouchers or IDs in my OneDrive online storage, in case my document will be lost or stolen I still can retrieve them online.

In OneNote I’ve made a timeline with the most important events, stops and flights:

Based on this table my travel agency booked the flights and events. I was amazed that they could book the flights without an exception according to my table, I didn’t even had to rewrite it once.

I recommend to book the flights half a year before the first flight, otherwise it’s getting more difficult for the travel agency to book the flights you’ve asked for.
