I use arch btw and Arch is the best are obnoxious ways to tell somebody that you are using the Arch Linux distribution on your computer. Arch users also claim that their distro is superior to other distros. Sure, they’re just silly memes - but, they’re the reason I even looked into Arch in the first place.

In two days I had two customers that sent me a zip file containing an Odoo module and asked to install it on their server. This is new and for some reason made me angry.

Developing Odoo modules and maintaining them over many Odoo versions is what I am doing as an Odoo developer for the past six year. My experience and learning from others has been accumulated into many best practices and patterns.

Is this only about pride or much more? Let’s find out.

Inspired by my brothers new navigation I created my own custom navigation. In fact it is already live on my website. Once I my brother sees it, he will roll his eyes and think “What else did I expect!”. The new navigation is a terminal prompt!

As everybody knows (at least in he Kubernetes realm) the Ingress NGINX controller is no longer receiving security patches and has been archived. It is recommended to use the new API Gateway instead of Ingress resources. This transition takes time and in the meantime the Ingress NGINX requires a replacement.

This blog post was created using Hugo and the new.css theme that I am developing. When sharing posts on Mastodon, you get a nice preview for links. This is possible by adding OpenGraph meta tags to the html document. In Mastodon you also have the creator tag.

Two times a week I am working in Altdorf and the other days I am working from home in Sarnen. Working from home has its perks, especially when being a parent. I can share dinner and tea time with my child. However, I do not have a private office room at home. The room I am working is called the “children’s bureau”. In my (recent) experience it is better to separate the private from the business life.

In 2017 I migrated from KeePass to Pass and now migrated back to KeePassXC. For almost 9 years I was a happy pass user. It still does a very good job and keeping password management simple. But setting up pass on a new device was always a bit difficult.

To know how to git is to know pain. I wouldn’t describe myself as a master of git. Never done the bisect and rebase onto stuff. Because git is my daily driver on the command line I am always interested to learn how to use it better.

One thing that seems to be a good fit for git is jujutsu. It showed up in my feed once again.
